I have a new EIN. How does that impact my TaxCloud account?

At this time, TaxCloud supports using one Employer Identification Number (EIN) per TaxCloud account. If your EIN was changed after you've created a TaxCloud account, read on for important next steps.

I have a new EIN, what do I need to do?

Because TaxCloud supports one EIN per account, if you've received a new EIN, you will need to close your TaxCloud account and open a new account to represent the new EIN. As far as the state accounts, you will be required to close your current state sales tax license accounts and open new state sales tax accounts for those states.

How does my new EIN impact my registrations in SST states?

If TaxCloud registers you for SST using your old EIN, please contact TaxCloud Support, and our teams will close the current SST registrations, add the new EIN to your TaxCloud account, and register with SST using your new EIN.

When contacting TaxCloud to share the new EIN, please provide any Federal document displaying the new EIN and your business name.

What about non-SST states, is there any impact?

For non-SST states, you will be required to contact each state to close the existing sales tax account, after which you can register for a new sales tax account on each state sales tax state site.
