Connecting TaxCloud to QuickBooks Online (Monthly Import)
Our QuickBooks Online CSV import pulls data into TaxCloud on a monthly basis. This may be a good fit for your business if you don't need TaxCloud to provide realtime tax calculations in QuickBooks Online.
Considerations
At this time, our Legacy QuickBooks Online integration does not pass along exemption details. This means that upon import to TaxCloud, our system will recalculate those transactions and add tax where you may not expect tax to be added. If you deal with exempt/wholesale transactions, we recommend using our CSV export solution for QuickBooks Online or our realtime QuickBooks Online integration.
How the integration works
This solution provides a direct connection and extract of your data from QBO into a CSV file.
- If you have exempt/wholesale transactions, you can edit the CSV file to assign them an exemption certificate ID (please see our article on how to add an exemption certificate to TaxCloud).
- After editing, import the CSV into TaxCloud so that the transactions are included in our final iteration of your return(s) for the period.
CSV uploads can be completed through the 10th of each month for transactions of the previous calendar month (deadline for submissions is 6 pm EST) to be included in the processing of our final version of the tax report for the month. (i.e. upload a CSV of transactions data for September between October 1st-9th)
