# How to Upload Exemption Certificates in Bulk

If you have a large number of Exemption Certificates to add to your account, our Support Team can help with a bulk upload. This guide walks through how to complete and submit the exemption certificate bulk upload template. Following these steps ensures certificates are processed quickly and accurately by our team.

1. **Download the Exemption Certificate Bulk Upload template.**
2. **Complete the template** using the certificate details you have available.
3. **Send the completed template** to our support team at **support@taxcloud.com**.

**Must Complete:**

* A: Customer ID
* C: First Name

* R: Certificate Reason
* T: State Abbreviation
* U: Reason for Exemption

**Conditional Requirements:**

* M: Other Business Type (required only if L = "Other")
* S: Other Certificate Reason (required only if R = "Other")

## Tips & Important Notes

* **Multiple States** If a certificate applies to more than one state, enter **each state on a separate row** using the same **Customer ID**.
* 
* **Country Default** If the **Country** column is left blank, it will automatically default to **US**.

## Tips & FAQs for Filling Out the Template

### What is the Exemption Group ID?

The **Exemption Group ID** is used to group multiple certificates that belong to the same client.

### Do all columns need to be filled out?

No. Only the fields marked as **Required** must be completed. Optional fields can be filled in if that information is available.

### Can one customer have multiple certificates?

Yes. Use the same **Customer ID** for all certificates that belong to the same customer. Each certificate should be entered on a separate row.

### What if my certificate covers multiple states?

Enter each state on its own row. Use the same **Customer ID** and certificate details for each row, changing only the state-specific information as needed.
