How to Download Debug Logs in TaxCloud for WooCommerce

Debug logs are useful for troubleshooting issues with the TaxCloud for WooCommerce plugin. This guide explains how to access and download them.

Prerequisites

Before downloading logs, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • WooCommerce Installed and Activated: You must have a functional WooCommerce store.
  • TaxCloud Plugin Installed and Activated: The TaxCloud for WooCommerce plugin must be active on your site.
  • WooCommerce Debug Logging Enabled: Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → TaxCloud and check the option Enable Debug Logging.
  • TaxCloud Logging Enabled: In TaxCloud Settings, ensure the option Log Requests is enabled.

Download Debug Log from WooCommerce Status

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to WooCommerce → Status → Logs.

  2. In the dropdown list, find and select a log file for the day the issue occurred with the following naming format: wootax-yyyy-mm-dd. Example: wootax-2025-10-01.log

  3. From “Bulk actions” select Download and click Apply to download the log files.

Download Order-Specific Debug Log

  1. From the WordPress dashboard, go to WooCommerce → Orders.

  2. Open the order where the issue occurred.

  3. On the order page, scroll to the section titled TaxCloud for WooCommerce.

  4. Click the button ↗ View Debug Log.

    You are redirected to the debug log page for that specific order.

  5. From “Bulk actions” select Download and click Apply to download the log files.

Sharing logs with TaxCloud Support Once downloaded, attach the log file(s) to your support request so the team can trace the issue. Include the order number if you're reporting an order-specific problem.
